Inaugral CPG Town Hall Meeting

𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐭 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐏𝐆.

The College of Petroleum Engineering & Geosciences held its first-ever town hall meeting on December 18, 2024, led by the Dean, Dr. Ali Alyousef. The event brought all CPG employees together, including faculty, staff, and researchers, to reflect on the College’s achievements over the past year and outline its strategic vision for the years ahead.
The Dean of CPG highlighted the CPG integrated model that connects academic programs with the Center for Integrated Petroleum Research (CIPR) to enable interdisciplinary collaboration across petroleum engineering, geosciences, and geophysics. He outlined CPG’s growth and achievements, showcasing its evolution from humble beginnings to a flourishing institution that recognized the academic and research excellence of its faculty, researchers, and staff. The Dean concluded with CPG’s strategic vision, focusing on industry impact, innovation, growth, and leadership.

The meeting served as a platform to foster collaboration and engagement, with updates presented by key figures, including Dr. Dhafer Al-Shehri, Chairman of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Dr. John Humphrey, Chairman of the Department of Geosciences, and Dr. Theis Sølling, Director of the Center for Integrative Petroleum Research (CIPR).

       

In addition to celebrating milestones, the town hall introduced a roadmap to guide CPG’s initiatives and priorities moving forward. Attendees participated in a robust Q&A session, during which questions, feedback, and suggestions were exchanged between employees and the College’s senior leadership, reflecting strong engagement and a shared commitment to advancing academic and research excellence.

   

Participants lauded the meeting as a valuable step in promoting collaboration and driving meaningful outcomes for CPG’s future.
