Dhafer Omar Badhafere
Engineer II, CIPR
Dhafer joined the petrophysics team at CIPR as an Engineer II and special core lab (SCAL) supervisor. He holds a master’s degree in petroleum engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, specializing in petrophysics and formation scale evaluation. His previous experience revolves around applying special techniques to characterize the petrophysical properties of formation rocks and to characterize iron sulfide scales. Additionally, he has worked in various joint areas including chemical-enhanced oil recovery, corrosion evaluation, and drilling fluid integrity evaluation.

Dr. Ahmad Akanbi Adewunmi
Engineer II, CIPR
Dr. Adewunmi is an active researcher at the Center for Integrative Petroleum Research, the research hub of the College of Petroleum Engineering and Geosciences at KFUPM. His area of research includes enhanced oil recovery, polymer gel design for water control in the petroleum industry, emulsion technology and nano-materials for diverse applications.

Hani Salman Al Mukainah
Engineer II, CIPR
Mr. Hani joined the College of Petroleum Engineering & Geoscience’s Centre of Integrated Petroleum Research in 2016 as an engineer in the petrophysics research group. Mr. Hani is a specialist in digital rock physics, acquiring digital images of natural rock at the pore scale, as well as at the core scale, and theoretically analysing these images. His recent spectacular results include the generation of wormholes in carbonates as a result of acid treatment. Hani has also worked on producing digital resistivity data from micro-images and understanding its findings. In addition, Mr. Hani is currently involved in several funded research such as, CO2 and H2 underground storage projects to examine the rock-fluid interaction and its effect on pore structures using a CT scanner.

He joined the Advanced petrophysics & Nuclear Magnetic Resonance/Magnetic Resonance Imaging laboratories at CIPR, KFUPM in 2017. He has a diversified experience in various research fields like Nuclear Magnetic Resonance/Magnetic Resonance Imaging rock core scanning & analysis for fluid typing, saturation recovery, diffusion distribution etc. Using core flood method to study foam properties, gas trapping & wettability alteration in porous media using chemical methods like surfactants & nanoparticles.
