The College of Petroleum Engineering & Geosciences recognizes its students who made us proud by shining in the fourth edition of the Gas & Oil Technology Showcase and Conference (GOTECH) that was held on 13 – 15 March 2023 in Dubai, UAE.  Three of our distinguished students achieved 1st place wins in regional competitions, as highlighted below. 

Ali Alabdrabulsasul (Department of Petroleum Engineering – Senior Student) secured 1st place in 𝐒𝐏𝐄 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍o𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 (𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐀) Regional Student Paper contest in Undergraduate (BSc) division.

Ahmed Abdelaal (Department of Petroleum Engineering – Ph.D. Student) secured 1st place in 𝐒𝐏𝐄 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍o𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 (𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐀) Regional Student Paper contest in Ph.D. division.

 

Majed Alessa (Department of Petroleum Engineering – Junior Student) secured first place in the presentation contest. This was a project investigating the problem of carbon emissions by exploring effective approaches to reduce the carbon footprint by minimum 50% in 10 years with maintaining the economic value.
