CPG Students Qualified for SPE International PetroBowl Contest

College of Petroleum Engineering & Geosciences is pleased to announce that King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals Petroleum Engineering department students participated in the Virtual MENA Regional PetroBowl 2020 which was organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Abu Dhabi Section on June 23rd and 24th, 2020, and were qualified for the International PetroBowl Contest that will be organized by SPE during the Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition, October 2020. The team qualified to top five out of 26 teams which was not an easy task but they made it.

The PetroBowl contest is SPE’s largest student competition. SPE Chapters from around the world participate in this quick-fire quiz covering a wide range of topics relevant to the E&P industry. Through this contest, the best students display their expertise and knowledge to a global audience.

The team members were: Ahmed Elsayed Abdelaal, Adedimeji Adeyemi, Clement Afagwu, Saud Yahya Alasiri and Shams Kalam and were supervised by Dr. Khaled Abdelgawad (Team Mentor) and Dr. Rahul Gajbhiye (Student Chapter Advisor). Congratulations to all the students and their mentors from CPG family.
