Dr. Mochamad Iqbal

Post-Doc Researcher, Department of Geosciences

Dr. Mochamad Iqbal is a geothermal geologist and geochemist with over five years of experience in geothermal research and academia. He obtained his PhD in Geothermal Geoscience from Kyoto University and is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Geosciences, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. His research broadly focuses on geothermal geochemistry and hydrogeology, utilizing major ion, trace element, and stable isotope data to characterize geothermal and groundwater systems. He also has strong expertise in the investigation of hidden geothermal systems, particularly through the integrated use of soil CO2 flux measurements and radon surveys. His work combines advanced laboratory analyses and geochemical modeling to support geothermal exploration and resource assessment.
