Mohammed Idrees A. Farooqui

Remote Sensing Specialist, Laboratory Technical Support & Services

Mr. Farooqui is an Electronics Graduate. He has 26 Years of Teaching, Research and Development Experience in Remote Sensing & GIS. Before joining College of Petroleum Engineering and Geosciences (CPG) he worked as Remote Sensing and GIS Analyst for 22 Years at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

His expertise is in Remote Sensing, GIS, 3D Modelling, Laser scanning, Geological and Geophysical Investigations using Ground Penetrating Radars (GPR). At KACST he was involved in many Remote Sensing and GIS projects like Earth Surface distortion mapping due to Sink Holes, Volcanos and Earth Quakes, Oil Spill Mapping, Mineral Mapping in Sabkhas, Archeological site investigations, Soil and Water Contamination Studies due to UST leakage, Environmental, Geological and Hydrological Studies, Coastal and Marine habitat mapping etc.

  • Holds 31 Diplomas in  Remote Sensing, GIS, 3D Modelling, Geophysical Equipment, 3D Laser scanning and IT

Asma has joined the Department of Remote Sensing in 2020. She is graduated from the Arab Open University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology and computing. Asma has also worked for Al-Hazm Industrial Equipment in Dammam, KSA as an IT administrator for 5 years and 7 months.

Bayan Abdullah Aldahlawi

Programmer Remote Sensing Laboratory, Laboratory Technical Support & Services

Ms. Bayan graduated with a bachelor’s in Computer Information Systems in 2018. Bayan excels with using the language of technology to present information in a clear and polished way. Besides website design, her skills also include graphic design, video editing. She is comfortable with modern web application architectures such as having a website front end and database back end, and she is experienced with querying information from sources such as the database and generating charts, tables, and graphs to present the information in a meaningful way. Bayan joined RSDS team on April 26th with her first day occurring during the work from home period. Despite the challenges, Bayan kept a positive attitude and put real effort into her assigned tasks, collaborating and working remotely. As regular work resumes back at the office. Bayan is on track to continue developing her technical skills in web development and she is the team authority on issues relating to the visual design and appearance of websites, apps, and other digital media. RSDS believes Bayan will continue to develop herself and contribute significantly to the strategic vision of the software development unit.

  • Assisting the Research Administration office helping Mr. Abdulwahab to administer the new Elements system for tracking publications and Dimensions system.
  • Working together with the other members of the software development unit on assigned tasks and especially working to enhance the visual design of the created software, and web applications including the design and layout of the various pages and the overall styling of the website and continuing to develop her range of technical expertise and ability to individually solve technical challenges, including the design of complete web applications including front end and back end
  • Soliciting guidance and feedback in order to stay productively engaged in various projects
  • Contributing to RSDS’s graphic design expertise as well as video editing capability, as needed

Ahmed Al-Sabaa

Drilling Lab Specialist, Laboratory Technical Support & Services

Focused and results-oriented professional with relevant experience in oil and gas drilling operations. Possess aptitude in coordinating with rig crews, and utilizing equipment to drill directional wells and to conduct training in well control & HSE for different oilfield personnel.
Gained great analytical skills to detect gaps in research and construct scientific methodologies to tackle problems using new artificial intelligence techniques along with lab experiments and data science. Has a proven experience in scientific research by a good number of published journal papers beside conference papers and presentations.
Lecturer for undergraduate and graduate drilling engineering courses in highly ranked university. Recognized as an expert in drilling engineering topics and assisting professors in building new curriculums in addition to reviewing and improving courses to update them with the latest results and discoveries.

Jafar Sadeq Al Hamad

Mr. Al Hamad is a very active young research assistant and served exceptionally to advance the Petroleum Engineering academic community. He nurtured from lab technician “2018 – 2021” and managed foundation of various labs to make industry impact. He oversees HSE, produced best practices and SOPs and passionately train faculty, undergrad and grad students. His leadership and support attributed to substantial new knowledge in research and publications.
